Wedding trends come and go, just like those in fashion. Even those beloved chocolate fountains and dessert bars are may even be considered tacky for wedding receptions.
But maybe having an open weed bar would make things high-ly unique for a wedding reception? Well, that was the case for California couple John Elledge and Whitney Alexander.
When the two tied the not, Elledge and Alexander had a smoke tent for guests to sample 13 different strains of marijuana (with the assistance of a budtender, of course), as they held their wedding at a Christmas tree farm in West Linn, Oregon.

John Elledge is a professional weed grower, so the unique bar concept doesn't come too much of a surprise. The groom told USA Today that even their wedding guests were happy with the new concept!
Not only that, but an 81-year-old woman - who hasn't smoked pot since the '60s -- came into the tent to try the weed bar. Elledge even notes, "she loved it."
Not to worry though, as Bridal Bliss - who helped the couple plan the wedding -- from Lake Oswego made sure that guests had "safe transportation" to and from the reception venue.
Bridal Bliss owner Nora Sheils even received so much positive (and negative) feedback on the "cannibar."

Talking to USA Today, Sheils said: "We posted a couple photos from that wedding on Instagram and Facebook and they have just blown up... and people either love it, they think it's such a fun idea, or hate it, they think it's just disgusting."
Meanwhile, Mark Pettinger from the Oregon Liquor Control Commission said that the weed smoking tent - like that of the wedding's - is completely legal, so long as it's held on a private property with no liquor license.
Maybe this can give you some ideas for your future wedding.
