Michael B. Jordan's Adonis Johnson proves he has what it takes to be trained by Rocky Balboa in the movie stills from the action drama 'Creed.'
The 'Fantastic Four' star looks ripped and ready to go as he trains under Sylvester Stallone's watchful eye. The new 'Creed' pictures prove that Michael B. Jordan has undergone rigorous training to play the aspiring young boxer who just happens to be the long-lost son of Rocky's former opponent Apollo Creed.
The synopsis for the film reads as follows:
"Adonis Johnson (Jordan) never knew his famous father, world heavyweight champion Apollo Creed, who died before he was born. Still, there's no denying that boxing is in his blood, so Adonis heads to Philadelphia, the site of Apollo Creed's legendary match with a tough upstart named Rocky Balboa (Stallone)."
In 'Creed,' Adonis Johnson finds Rocky and asks the former boxer to be his trainer. Although Rocky is initially hesitant to take the young fighter under his wing, he soon sees the potential in Adonis and decides to train the rookie. However, it is soon revealed that Rocky is battling his own personal demons as well.
Michael B. Jordan is best known for playing the high school quarterback Vince Howard in the football drama series 'Friday Night Lights.' He has previously appeared in films like 'Chronicle,' 'Fruitvale Station' and 'That Awkward Moment.' Jordan recently caused a stir when he was cast as Johnny Storm / Human Torch in 'Fantastic Four,' since the character is usually portrayed as a blonde, blue-eyed Caucasian man.
'Creed' is a spin-off of the 'Rocky' film series and serves as the seventh movie in the franchise that launched Sylvester Stallone's career. It is directed by Ryan Coogler and also stars Tessa Thompson, Tony Bellew, Graham McTavish and Phylicia Rashad. The film is scheduled for release on November 25, 2015.
