Following the sudden death by suicide of the "Mrs. Doubtfire" actor, now the Robin Williams estate worth makes news as his family enters a feud over how to divide the things the actor left from his lifetime, including his awards like the Oscar and even old photographs.
Williams' death was one of the most tragic celebrity news of 2014, as it took the world by surprise that the actor could be in so much pain, even raising awareness for research on mental illness and even support on their treatment; now, a few months after his passing, Robin Williams' estate worth is at stake in court.
According to Rolling Stone Magazine, Robin Williams' estate is worth a great deal to those fighting over it, both economically and affectively, as his things include a whole variety of things ranging from bicycles and toys to even fossils from his collection.
The Guardian reports that Robin Williams' estate worth was to his three children (Zachary, 31; Zelda, 25 and Cody, 23) in a trust fund, but the terms of his will also included the creation of some form of benefit towards third wife Susan Schneider, a graphic designer with two children of her own.
Last December, Schneider filed papers in San Francisco claiming the actor's children had taken Williams' items without her permission, and asked the court to keep items in the California home she shared with Williams from the children's inheritance; the items pertained memorabilia of many different sorts as well as jewelry.
Recently, the children have filed their own papers in court, stating that Schneider has robbed them of personal items of their father.
"The Williams children are heartbroken that petitioner, Mr. Williams's wife of less than three years, has acted against his wishes by challenging the plans he so carefully made for his estate," attorneys for the children said in court papers.
According to Forbes, Robin Williams's estate's worth was close to bankruptcy a few years ago, but recovered since.
