Fans of Nintendo's handheld gaming console will finally get their hands on the company's newest product next month. According to an official statement from Nintendo, it will be releasing its newest Nintendo 3DS XL on Feb. 13 and will have a price tag of $200.
The new handheld console was presented on Aug. 2014 and it has some very interesting upgrades like redesigned analog stick. It also has two new shoulder buttons and a "super-stable" 3D face tracking feature. The 3DS XL also has NFC capabilities in order to support Nintendo's amiibo storage figurines.
Aside from the standard black and red models, Nintendo decided to release the 3DS XL with two additional designs. One of it features creative artwork designs inspired by the game "The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D." The other one is based on the game "Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate", this variant of the 3DS XL comes in with an installed copy of the game and the bundled price is for $229.99.
The new 3DS XL might be a little more expensive compared to its predecessor the 3DS but Nintendo has some good reasons for it, the 3DS XL is a much bigger and weighs less compared to the 3DS. The 3DS XL also has a bigger display with 4.3 inch display for the lower screen and 4.9 display for the upper screen which also uses the glasses-free 3D screen.
Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Nintendo America Scott Motiff released a statement saying "We are only a couple of weeks into 2015, and Nintendo is already starting the year off with a bang. With new Nintendo 3DS XL coming very soon and an enormous library of exclusive Wii U and Nintendo 3DS games launching throughout the coming months, it has neven been a better time to be a Nintendo fan."
